A POP connection is not nearly as robust as a Full Access Exchange connection as you will not be able to synchronize anything. Also, there will be no data back up possible for only a POP connection as it removes the data from the server. Below are the set up instructions for Outlook.

  1. In Outlook, click on the Tools menu.
  2. Select Account settings.
  3. Select New in the Tool bar.
  4. Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, HTTP and select Next.
  5. Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types and select Next.
  6. Select Internet E-mail and select Next.
  7. Fill Out the form with the following settings.

    User Information

    Your Name : Your Name
    E-mail Address : E-Mail Address

    Server Information

    Account Type: POP3
    Incoming mail server: na01.msexchangeoutlook.com
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP): na01.msexchangeoutlook.com

    Logon Information

    User Name : E-Mail Address
    Password : Your Password

  8. Click the More Settings button
  9. Click the Outgoing Server tab.
  10. Check the box labeled My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  11. Click the Advanced tab and insert the below settings.

    Server Port Numbers

    Incoming server (IMAP): 110
    Use of the following type of encrypted connection Drop Down: - None
    Outgoing server (SMTP): 7071
    Use of the following type of encrypted connection Drop Down: - None

  12. Click OK
  13. Click Next
  14. Click Finish
